A while ago, I was speaking with one of my coworkers about some important decisions I had, and I needed to just lay it all before God and just trust Him. There were times when I didn’t know what to do, or if I would have a job to pay my bills. But God always supplied my need and he always made a way when I couldn’t see any alternative. When I didn’t know which direction to turn, God showed me that if I trust Him and depend on Him, that He will make a way.
There were times when I didn’t have a dime, but every bill was paid. My tuition for school, my rent, I had food on my table, food to feed my dog and cat at the time, and I had money to put gas in my car, so I can get to work. I just continued to trust and believe that God will provide. There was even a time when I had to move, I was going through a period of depression and I had to take a big step out on faith. I was scared, but God not only supplied my family to support me, but friends and even coworkers to encourage me.
I felt like that period of my life was a mess. Even after I moved, I kept going through nonsense and making poor decisions, because I didn’t like the period of my life I was in. I wanted things to change. I wanted things to get better. But each time I stepped out, trusting my own intuition, it was like I kept knocking into walls, being used, trusting people I shouldn’t have trusted, letting my guard down when I shouldn’t have and not allowing God to take first hand in all I did. I was trying to fix things myself, with little success. Searching myself, instead of allowing God to take precedence and allowing Him to supply every need, every desire, every worry, every longing I had. So even though there were people around me, I was lonely, I was hurt, I was bitter, I was angry.
I, also, lost some friends because they thought they knew me, but they didn’t know me. They thought they knew my heart, but they only saw what was going on around me….and isn’t that what always happens to many of us, we lose friends because they don’t know the entire story, or they don’t know what’s happening day in and day out around you. But what makes it awesome is that God is merciful and gracious and will place some truly praying people around you, who love God with all their hearts, with no hidden agendas, and just sincere Holy Ghost fire prayer. God will place these same Saints in your way to say, “Guess what, you need to get it right, lets pray together and trust God in your situation”… or they might say, “I see your going through something, I will pray with you and stand with you in prayer before God, interceding for you.” If they have the ability, they may say after praying with you, “Let me help you….”
God is never slack concerning His promises. God said He will never leave us nor forsake us.
Deuteronomy 31:6
6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
When your down and out, God is able to lift you up. He is able to comfort your heart. When Jesus was here with the disciples, He said He would send us a Comforter, this was the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit guides us, comforts us, gives us strength when we have no strength.
The Bible says to 1 Peter 5:7 (KJV)
7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
God cares, and He is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we can ever ask or think. God is our way maker and Our greatest help in the time of need. When God spoke to the Israelites who trusted Him in Isaiah 41:10 – 13
10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
11 Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish.
12 Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought.
13 For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.
Another translation reads: New King James Version (NKJV)
Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’11 “Behold, all those who were incensed against you Shall be ashamed and disgraced; They shall be as nothing, And those who strive with you shall perish.12 You shall seek them and not find them—Those who contended with you. Those who war against you Shall be as nothing, As a nonexistent thing.13 For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, Saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.’
We have nothing to fear. Nothing to worry about when we trust God. God is on our side. Scripture says: WE all know the 23 Psalm:
Psalm 23 – King James Version (KJV)
23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
God comforts, He restores what has been broken inside us. He leads us and gives us direction. When we feel like we are walking alone, and fear what is coming next or fear things we must encounter or take care of, God is by our side. When people come against us, God anoints us and blesses us abundantly and our enemies can’t figure out how, when they have been trying to knock us down. When we trust God, goodness and mercy follow as we follow Christ.
When we are facing things, we cannot fathom how it will change. Begin to pray and trust God. Scripture says: Mark 11:23-24 23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive [them], and ye shall have [them].
If God said it, why do we doubt. Why do we keep worrying when we know that God is our way maker and our strong tower? He is the rock that is Higher than I. Why do we keep depending on our own initiatives when God wants us to seek Him?
Seek ye first the kingdom of Heaven and His righteousness and all these things shall be added to you. (Matthew 6:33 KJV)
Mark 9:23 (KJV)
23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
Matthew 19:26, Mark 10:27 (KJV)
27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.
The Lord spoke to Jeremiah in Jeremiah 32:27 saying- Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me? (Verses like Jeremiah 32:27)
God shows his power in Daniel 3, when Shadrack Meshack and Abednego were bound and thrown into the fiery furnace because they would not bow down to Nebudchadnezzar golden statue and worship.
They stood firm on the promises of God and continued to have faith in Him despite the threat of this King. But God showed up: Scripture says in Daniel 3:20-28 (KJV):
That Nebuchadnezzar
20 And he commanded the most mighty men that were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.
21 Then these men were bound in their coats, their hosen, and their hats, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.
22 Therefore because the king’s commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceeding hot, the flames of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
23 And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.
24 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonished, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king.
25 He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.
26 Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, came forth of the midst of the fire.
27 And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king’s counsellors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.
28 Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.
God is faithful. He will never leave us nor forsake us. He keeps us. He protects us.
Remember John 10:10 (KJV) – The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
